Frequently Asked Questions
These are some common questions from our customers.
Isla Contoy is a protected National Park, and the government limits access to only 200 people per day to preserve its fragile ecosystem. Booking in advance is the only way to guarantee your spot.
Safety comes first. If the sea conditions (wind or waves) are not safe for snorkeling at the reef, we will go directly to the island so you can have more time to enjoy its beaches and nature.
Isla Contoy is famous for being the "sanctuary of birds." You will see frigatebirds, cormorants, and pelicans. In its waters, it is common to see rays and, with a bit of luck, sea turtles.
The island is unspoiled, so there are no shops. It does have eco-friendly bathrooms for visitors. We provide all the food and drinks.
Towel, hat, sunglasses, and the use of sunscreen on the island is not allowed (it is optional to apply it before boarding the vessel, smoking, speakers, and the use of drones are not permitted). It is a requirement of the park to protect marine life.
